In this weeks episode, we talk about microbes that can benefit sustainability. Fellow microbigal editor and contributor Julie Grubaugh talks about how the mycelial network and fungi can be used to make everything from leather to chairs; Jon talks about how microbes can be used to power batteries; and Tess tells us how microbes can make calcium carbonate that can be used to stabilize shorelines, fill gaps in statues, and even protect the environment from mining waste.
